What is CIRS?
CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) is a multi-system, immune-mediated condition triggered by biotoxin exposure — most often from mold in water-damaged buildings. It’s marked by persistent inflammation and disruption across hormonal, cognitive, immune, and detox systems.
What are common symptoms of CIRS?
Symptoms can include fatigue, brain fog, light sensitivity, temperature dysregulation, sinus issues, mood shifts, hormone changes, chemical sensitivity, and post-exertional crashes.
What is MARCoNS, and how is it related to CIRS?
MARCoNS (Multiple Antibiotic-Resistant Coagulase-Negative Staphylococci) is a type of resistant staph bacteria often found in the nasal passages of patients with CIRS. It can perpetuate inflammation and may require targeted therapy as part of the broader care plan.
Do you test for mold or mycotoxins?
Yes — when clinically indicated. We may assess environmental exposure history, mycotoxin burden, nasal colonization, and inflammatory markers associated with biotoxin response.
Can CIRS be treated with supplements or detox kits?
Not effectively. These cases require layered evaluation, system mapping, and medical oversight. Over-the-counter detox protocols can make symptoms worse if not properly sequenced.
What kind of testing might be involved?
We may evaluate inflammatory markers (e.g. MMP-9, TGF-beta1), hormone panels, cortisol rhythm, MARCoNS cultures, gut health, and markers of oxidative stress — based on your case.
I’ve seen doctors but still don’t feel better. Can this help?
Many patients come to us after seeing multiple providers. Our approach is structured, physician-led, and focused on identifying patterns that are often missed in conventional models.
Is this approach safe for sensitive patients?
Yes. We work with many sensitive, reactive patients. Plans are built around tolerance and adjusted based on response — not pushed for speed.
How long does it take to feel better?
Recovery from CIRS or MARCoNS varies. Some patients improve in phases over months; others require longer timelines. Progress is built through structure — not quick fixes.
Is this covered by insurance?
We don’t bill insurance directly. Some testing or prescriptions may be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Care is provided through a physician-led membership model.
